Whyalla

Whyalla has two jetties and we have walked along neither of them.

The northern jetty is within the steelworks and we did not see any public access. The closest we could get was the lookout on Hummocks Hill. Judging by the look we might not want to get much closer.

A short distance south is the marina, and on the outside wall is a new jetty. This is brand new and wasn't actually open. The entire marina wall was fenced off, so the closest we could get was the marina boat ramp.

Excitingly, it appears to be the first 'modern' jetty we have come across. There are curves, a loop, and it looks to be constructed very differently, presumably from concrete. Google maps currently still shows the previous jetty which was straight and conventional.

We look forward to a closer inspection in the future.
